Shala Darpan Supplementary Exam 2026 (Class 5 & 8)
If your child got an E grade in one or more subjects in the Class 5 or Class 8 board exam this year, the पूरक परीक्षा (supplementary exam) is the second chance to clear the year. Rajasthan holds this exam for exactly these students, and the 2026 supplementary exam falls in July. Everything below is based on the Integrated शाला दर्पण portal and the elementary education directorate’s notifications. For the final subject-wise schedule and your child’s admit card, always open the official portal — rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in — and never act on a forwarded WhatsApp link.
Who has to appear
The regular Class 5 and Class 8 results were declared on 24 March 2026. A student passes only by scoring at least 33% (D grade) in each subject. An E grade counts as a fail, and any student with an E grade in one or more subjects is placed in the supplementary (पूरक) category.
This year the group is large. Around 30,640 Class 5 students — about 2.24% of those who appeared — and 38,276 Class 8 students were placed in the supplementary category. That is close to 69,000 children across the state who are eligible for the July exam. If your child is one of them, the supplementary status shows on the marksheet itself.
Supplementary exam dates
The Class 5 and Class 8 supplementary time table was issued on 19 June 2026. As per that notification, the exams are held from 20 to 25 July 2026.
The March exams ran in a single afternoon session, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, in offline pen-and-paper mode, and the supplementary papers are expected to follow a similar afternoon session. Because subject dates and timings can differ, download the official time table PDF from the Class 5th & 8th Exam section of the portal and check your child’s exact subject and date rather than assuming.
Admit card
Admit cards for Class 5 and 8 are routed through schools — the board sends them to each school, and the school hands them to students. The portal also carries an Admit Card page inside the Class 5th & 8th Exam module. If the school copy is delayed, speak to the class teacher or headmaster first; that is the official channel. No student is allowed into the exam hall without the admit card.
How to confirm your child is in the supplementary list
Open rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in, go to the 5th & 8th Exam section, then Result. You can check by roll number, or — if the roll number is lost — by entering the student’s name, father’s name, and date of birth. When names are common the search can return more than one record, so match the date of birth to be sure. The marksheet shows the grade in each subject; an E grade is what sends a student to the supplementary exam.
On the day of the exam
A few habits save a lot of stress at the centre. Reach at least 30 minutes early for verification. Carry the admit card every single day, because entry is refused without it. Leave phones and calculators at home, as electronic devices are not permitted inside the hall. Students with special needs (CWSN) are given extra time and, where required, a writer, in line with board rules. The paper is fully offline, so no online login is needed to sit it.
Use only official sources
Two websites are official: rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in and rajshaladarpan.nic.in. Private-school records sit on a separate portal, rajpsp.nic.in, so government-school families should stay on Shala Darpan. Around exam and result season, fake links and paid “fast result” messages spread quickly. The board never charges a fee to view a result or download an admit card, and no unofficial website can issue either one. If a message asks for money or personal details to release a result, treat it as a scam and stop.
